A Toy’s Life and Beyond is a social venture based in Cambridge, UK. Its purpose is to teach children about recycling in a fun way. By using the life cycle of a toy, we envisage children can learn about recycling, where materials come from and how they can contribute to the betterment and protection of the environment as well as introducing them to the circular economy concept and sustainability in general.
At present, most of the toys produced are not recyclable and end up on landfills all over the world. This is why we see A Toy’s Life and Beyond making an important contribution to the environment and society in general.
Our aim is to reduce the number of toys, particularly plastic ones, that end up on landfills.
Our mission is to raise awareness about what happens when a toy is no longer needed and the impact its disposal has on the environment.
We have worked very hard to return to having regular toy swaps and have arranged permanent dates in our regular location in Eddington . Please visit our events page for dates and time and also on events we are taking part in across Cambridgeshire. We are also keen to keep our playgrounds clean, with new dates for playground clean-ups coming soon!
If you would like to know more about us or volunteer with us, please contact us or email us at: atoyslifeandbeyond@gmail.com
We are also committed to create awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Our work has been feature at COP26 and beyond.
